Dear Michlelet NCSY Parent, amush

Excitement. Hope. Anticipation. Nerves.

Some of the many charged emotions certainly felt in the walls of Reishit our first few days here. 

Excitement.   What can be more exciting than to arrive in Eretz Yisrael? Couple that with doing so with another 153 top girls who have chosen to spend such a meaningful summer together.  Add in the fact that there are also 37 phenomenal, incredible, capable madrichot plus a remarkable head staff, and the excitement has reached new levels. And to spend it on Michlelet NCSY together just brings the picture to its fullest.

A summer on Michlelet NCSY is a summer of reaching unimaginable heights, experiencing rich experiences, meaningful encounters, in a hard to compare fun and joyful way. 

Hope.    The girls have so many hopes and dreams and yearnings for this summer. For growth, for fun, for connection and for so much more.  There is nothing more thrilling than new beginnings when opportunity is open and lies ahead.

Anticipation.    Who can understand this more than you, dear parents? Your daughters have waited in anticipation for quite some time now; some this whole year, some for years already and some for a few months for Michlelet to start.  And we are finally here. They can’t wait to throw themselves in and get started.

And, of course, nerves. The unknown, especially when tied to so many hopes, dreams and expectations can certainly be nerve wracking.   As girls acclimate and start to meet each other, there is most certainly some apprehension and adjusting. We on our end have been working literally 24/7 to try to help each girl acclimate as best as possible. Getting to know you activities, Team building activities, reaching out to girls and really trying to help each girl is what we have been busy with even as the girls have gotten started.

While there certainly are some adjustments and need for acclimation, the girls in general seem positive and upbeat and excited for what will hopefully be an incredible summer.

So much has happened since many of you said goodbye to your daughters in the airport this past Tuesday. Davening at the Kotel…Arriving and settling in at Reishit… A tour of the shuk.. Davening at the Kotel....”Getting to know you” activities…Orientation…Chizkiyahu’s Water Tunnels…Ir Dovid…Special shana bet trips...A delicious Holy Bagel Dinner in Yemin Moshe… Oreintation…Our first incredible speaker Rav Doni Marcus…group bonding and team building in the forest... And so much more!

Having seen the incredible power and impact a summer on Michlelet NCSY has had on so many, I personally feel extremely delighted that each of your daughters has this opportunity.

I am very much looking forward to getting to know all of them!

With all of this excitement, hope and anticipation we certainly look forward to our first Shabbos on Michlelet NCSY 2018.  There really is nothing like the energy, singing, ruach and bonding that is experienced on Shabbos on Michlelet.
